Author Help is a small, family-run business based in Staffordshire in the UK. We work with independent authors who want to self publish their books, but don’t want to do it all alone.
Author Help was set up in 2018 to see if founder Robin could make their dream come true and run their own business, drawing on their personal experience of publishing their own books for the previous seven years. Supported by wife Jen while everything got going, Robin quickly turned it into a success, helping an increasingly wide variety of authors.
The year 2020 brought many changes for a lot of people, including redundancy for Jen. Rather than flounder in joblessness, she joined Author Help and they now work together.
Author Help has so far helped over fifty authors turn their manuscripts into books.
Robin is an established indie author (writing under the name Russell Phillips) who understands the daily challenges writers face when publishing their own books. They have been publishing books in various formats since 2011 and have built up a wealth of experience that they use to help other writers succeed.
Their knowledge of the self publishing process, from words to sale, makes them an excellent ally for any author. Their technical ability enables them to provide capable and reliable support for our WordPress services, occasionally even writing plugins to make authors’ websites better and lives easier.
Jen joined Author Help in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of skills and experience from previous careers in technical writing and software testing. Author and illustrator of children’s book Tessa the Tank, she brings a burst of creativity to the business.
Her eye for detail and love of language make her an excellent proofreader and her head for systems and figures means she’s invaluable in keeping things running behind the scenes.
